So on the surface I would tell you building a rooftop deck is quite the undertaking and might be more expensive that you're thinking.As far as which questions to ask the roofing contractor, I would just make sure they're removing the existing damaged/old roof before they replace it.

I didn't have all of the answers but I did my best to show them I was serious, financially responsible, had done my homework before sitting down with them, wasn't crazy and already quit my day job, and aware enough to see the risk I was about to undertake and mitigate it by finding the exit funding early.
