While I have only been in the industry for 5 years now, people who are 30+ year industry veterans are saying this is the worse they have seen it.I think there are trends that people are not seeing to take advantage of, and it could be the darkest before the dawn moment, but it seems like there is no relief in sight for construction costs.

Honestly, letting them go will be a relief and I do agree that I shouldn't have been lenient on any of the terms of the lease because she certainly isn't giving me any grace.

*An ADU with a gross floor area of 800 square feet shall be permitted on a premises with an existing or proposed dwelling unit regardless of maximum lot coverage, maximum floor area ratio, and minimum open space requirements The development shall comply with the floor area ratio of the underlying base zone unless the development incorporates an existing structure that exceeds the allowable floor area ratio or is under the allowable floor area ratio by less than 800 square feet, in which case an ADU that does not exceed 800 square feet shall be permitted.So there is FAR relief if you have an existing building that already used all of the available FAR, or is within 800 SF of the maximum FAR.

I was going to do a 1031 exchange but my CPA said I won't end up paying any taxes because my husband sold a house this year also and took enough of a loss on it that it will cancel out the profit on my Butte house :) Its such a relief and I hope she's right!!!

The water discharge backed up but one side did not have a relief access to drain it and when putting it in discovered that there was a crack in the pipe.

Cork underlayment provides some relief, but a set of heals upstairs still stands out.There are likely some flooring professionals here who can make a case for the thicker, more expensive foam underlayment, but our experience tends towards a conclusion that the biggest difference may just be the price.
