My thought process on taking out the 401k would be to put the money down and have my parents get approved for the loan, possibly me as a co-signer, with the understanding that the property would be mine.

Usually you have to have a job but if you have a savings account that is good, food credit, low/no debt and maybe a co-signed you could be golden.

@Peter Tonsits yeah, this just isn't going to work if you need him as a co-signer.

I also have the option of having a parent co-sign or being a co-borrower and definitely being able to get financing, but am going to try to secure the loan on my own first.

Could you convert to a co-op instead of a condo?
