I'm pretty familiar with the West LA pockets and grew up in the City of Industry area. 

We are both going to be out of state investors, but grew up in Northern Virginia so we know the area very well.

I grew up in Illinois and have seen first hand how the government works there and its only going to get worse.

I grew up in Wichita, but moved to Denver when I was 18.

My solution to the DC price issue was buying a house in the area I grew up in, Lexington KY.

At the same time, I'm aware that this is a tough time to get started in the real estate market cycle, so I'm also committed to finding an amazing deal even if it requires a lot of upfront work.I've targeted buy and hold rental as my #1 strategy and the next step for me is choosing a market.For more background on myself, I grew up in Seattle, WA and since then have lived in Phoenix AZ, Chicago IL, Steubenville OH, Charlotte NC, and am currently in Montclair NJ (and I'm only 24!).

I'm from Atlanta, grew up there, and most of my properties are there and I live in CA now.

My 2 cents: I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and go there frequently to visit siblings that still reside there.
