This is a standard method of construction for the time of construction.An inspection of the north foundation wall from the crawl area revealed large, fairly horizontal cracking/distress along the length of the wall and vertical cracking in the NW and NE corners.

It was an estate sale, and one that we had walked away from months prior after the sellers wouldn’t negotiate when the inspection revealed a much larger rehab than we had originally thought.
