Everyone will have a different opinion on this but personally I'm not a fan of new construction.

The same street with the difference of a hundred house numbers can look drastically different.I hope this helps, rather than be discouraging.

Also what does the city say is the assessed value of the property on your taxes (it will be different than the appraised value, but should give you an idea).
