I may come on here and ask advice about some deal I was thinking of, but when the deal actually goes down, there are real flesh and blood people with fiduciary duties to me being paid to watch out for me... no exceptions. 

They are a HUGE  help with looking to see: dry times, retardants, thinners, clean up, ideal conditions, what they are designed to be painted on, primers to be used with those specific products and, of course, safety information.  

In the two occasions were we have placed laminate on a floor over a {at times} humid crawl space, we laid our own vapour/moisture barrier first and then the regular thinner foam underlayment as opposed to purchasing the underlayment with a bonded vapour barrier.Finally, I've grown to dislike laminate in stick-built apartment buildings - particularly older ones without sound deadening in the ceiling/floor assemblies - as it is loud for the tenants below.  

Brokers depend on this new blood to pay those monthly fees.Call 10 people every day and tell them what you do.

However, we thoroughly cleaned up the apartment and had new flooring put in (blood stain).

No one is out to screw someone over, but where there's blood in the water, there will always be sharks.
