A note buyer / trader?

As a former analyst & trader myself with Mellon Bank in downtown - may I welcome you to the world of real estate, though a month late!

People renting out their condo in my complex is also around $2800+ being so close to shops like Target and Trader Joe's...and rumors of google moving in next door and being next to a major transportation HUB, the prices are justified here in Silicon Valley.So my question is, is it a bad idea or is it even possible to obtain a HELOC to obtain a 20% down on a new "move-up" home?

It is almost like day traders vs swing traders vs value investors.

Hey @Zach Nelson ,I have bought a couple places in the Peoria, IL area and have used Ryan Blackorby who is a broker for Traders Realty and has an office in East Peoria.  

Many of stocks investors (traders) I know of were buying real estate between 2010 and 2012 using cash.

Real estate you can make significantly more than from stocks (unless you are some great day trader), but it also requires more time and money.

Im a trader for a living, interest rates are up 20%+ in a short time frame.

Hi AllI have posted some queries in the Houston Group forum about 8 days ago, however there has been no responses and the group seems dead :-(I have been an active real estate trader in New Zealand since 2001.Our main strategy is to make low ball offers on REO single family houses in first home buyer neighbourhoods,rehab and sell them to owner occupiers.

@Jared Hottle for the traveling welders and pipefitters you mentioned, were you on a specific facebook housing group for those traders or was the group more generic to people looking for housing in your location?
