On the listing side, I pay for professional photography, floor plans, advertising, etc.  

I use a Sony DSCR1, overkill for the purpose but I didn't buy it for real estate - I've been into still photography for decades.I know much less about video cams - can anyone suggest some cams that go very wide for not big $?

I eventually grew up & went to college, where I got a Bachelor of Fine Arts with emphasis in Photography.

We are working on our first big job of real estate photography and rental management...but we really want to get rolling on having our own rental portfolio. 

After property-specific marketing expenses (staging, photography, videography, floor-plan generation, print materials, print ads, online ads, dedicated website, email blasts, flyers and postcards, virtual tour recording and posting, etc), splits to my brokerage and cooperating broker/agent, taxes and overall business costs, I profit maybe 1% or 1.5% on a property sold with a 6% commission. 

We are looking for someone willing to travel and who has experience in Real Estate photography.

I started a photography business on top of my fulltime job and rental business not because I think I am going to quit my job or because I think I am going to make a fortune taking pictures of people but because I want to buy some awesome photography gear and I want to pay for it with before-tax money.

I have a Canon t5i and do real estate photography for other agents in my brokerage but am still an amateur.

Get that exterior looking green with some colorful flowers and palms, take day and twilight photos, and get better photography on the inside.

I mean coding, internet security, even photography for that matter.
