Probably few other brokerages provide the opportunity to invest in bigger deals than they could take down themselves and provides as much wealth training.There are books written by the organization like The Millionaire Real Estate Investor, HOLD, and FLIP about different aspects of investing.

Chris of course there are exceptions which your firm I would say is the exception or the few other best practice companies out there but there are quite a few TK companies in the US who in my personal experience are not as well capitalized organized etc at REI nation and the desire to move their inventory from HML to cash in their pocket does sway tenant placement just sayin. 

Certainly you could learn the real estate trade and be able to handle the paperwork and organization of getting closings set up, etc, but if you have a good realtor I think that the value he/she would bring is well worth not getting the commission for yourself.
