In my experience, it takes quite a bit more money to maintain 2 duplexes than to maintain 1 4 family home.55k SFH: $150/month135k 3-famil: $150/month550k 12 unit complex: $550/monthObviously this isn't perfect, but it's worked nicely for me for years.
