I am unfamiliar with lending practices for lending to foreign nationals/Canadians, and I would love any good recommendations for information relating to financing a Florida property from Canada.I have made contact with a great Ottowa based CPA/CGA that has educated me on a lot of the details for the most tax efficient options for purchasing a property, but any additional information on possibly avoiding FIRPTA withholding or general cross-border tax-related resources would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

So did you actually go to the trouble of forming the LLC and create a formal operating agreement?

I have a 3 family in MA just over the RI border, about 10 miles from Providence.

What I am wondering is if there are credit unions or smaller banks in the Orlando area, that specialize in cross border lending to do some competitive analysis in terms of lower down payments.

The title company was a smaller regional operation but the tile insurance policy is with Chicago so I am going to submit a formal claim with Chicago on Monday if there the is no progress.

they said that they do not do that, but i may be able to do something called a formal assumption of the debt.

@Destinee WinchesterGenerally, no cross-border lending unless you're a big corporation so you'll need to find a local bank that is willing to finance you and at a decent interest rate.
