I had an opposite experience, a Sec 8 tenant passed away and they paid the rent until the family removed the deceased tenants belongings!

(A good property manager would not let tenants move in without confirming the utilities have changed names)If the bill belongs to the tenants, and you have security deposit, instruct PM to take it out of the Security.

If the bank had been paying the entire time, I would have assumed it was the way escrow was set up, but the owner was paying the taxes for a while, and then it switched to the bank making payments.2nd, it still appears to belong to the owner (ie not foreclosed).

My plan is to rent 1000 SF of the building and build a wall in the middle dividing my belongings from the person that rents the other side.I wanted to reach out to see what some general thoughts were regarding, how can I keep someone from coming in and making a mess of the other side; i.e. working on greasy cars, spills, etc.
