Pay student loans or invest in RE

Although, this is a bigger investment @235k than the original loan amount of $170k, I am thinking of it as if why not save that $1212/month for a year, giving me about $14,500 to invest in another property per year, via house-hacking and say it even comes out to a purchase price of $170k, I could again hopefully enjoy some cash flow and tax benefits while that asset will (hopefully) appreciation to an estimated $330k (22 years @3% appreciation).

I suggest you sell the property, walk away with the cash at right around $150,000 after sellers fees, pay off the debt that you are in, and then keep the rest to purchase a property when you get back into the states for either living/renting.
