Hello I have finally made it back to Yokosuka and have been making inquiries regarding possible venues but have not had very good luck.El Torito Mexican restaurant was suggested but I'm not sure about it having a space where a group of us can sit and talk. 

Some in prime locations will be bought by developers and others will probably deteriorate and eventually shut down - that may take decades though.

This could include offering special discounts to guests at nearby restaurants (easy to execute with a QR Code), collaborating with a spa for guest packages, or sponsoring events that cater to your target demographic.Finally, don't underestimate the power of local art for retaining guests. 

Some cities require the STR permit number in the title or very top of the OTA listing so city permit  technicians can scan and keep track otherwise the owner will be contacted and fined for forgetting or shut down if operating illegally.Some cities have a 24/7 STR hotline dedicated to receiving any complaints (from neighbors, HOA) for a code compliance officer to act onSome cities issue expensive fines for those operating without the STR permit

I could really use some guidance on how to approach this.To provide some context, the building is in a premium location, with easy access to lakes, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and public transportation.

If you want a restaurant in there, typically, as the landlord, you are footing the hood system, walk-in cooler/freezer, fire suppression and overall fixture work for the tenant.  

You could buy it and run it as a multifamily but all it takes is one neighbor to call the town and shut you down.  

What's a good restaurant?

I am sure, he'll shut up real quick once you offer him out of his lease.
