Then when they do get something from Social Security it will be icing on the cake and they won't be relying on it to make their plan work.In other words, use conservative assumption in their plan, and then if things go better, that's fantastic and will put them in an even better position.I think it's the same way with appreciation.

The Castigliola, Renkemeyer, and Hardy cases come to mind.Review those cases and you'll soon see that SE taxation of an LLC member is a facts and circumstances analysis, and you might be surprised at some of the circumstances examined.Generally capital members of an LLC syndicate would not be subject to SE taxes, but its a good convo to have with your CPA as the facts and circumstances matter.
