You might have an existing winter-summer hookup where there is just one boiler that supplies both heat and hot water; if that is the case you would probably be better off doing away with that for supplying hot water, although you might be able to use that to cover one unit for both heat and hot water.

I would use it maybe 14 days per year, and it would be available for rent the rest of the time (ski lodging in the winter, woodsy get-away in the summer, leaf peeping in the fall!).

I just had a similar issue, previously vacant propety with new tenant moving/moved in.Usage (in gallons) over last few days: 1,200 then 7,200 and finally 5,500.This is winter time in Midwest so no pool and tenant is in process or moving in so not squatters.
