On a worldwide basis, the US is considered a business haven where many can hide their identities.

Others deliberately hide their success so the exaggerators don't pester them!

Also I know it can be hard to get financing if the seller is hiding money on taxes and it looks like their not making much money.

If they try to hide who their current landlord is or lie about it, you can simply deny them based on that.

He hides behind these "partners" and never go thru with the deal.

The guilty people know how to hide their tracks and could have been arrested under previous laws anyway, so all CTA law did was persecute small business owners. 

Many times they will claim it's wonderful and then try to hide their worst deals by only showing completed deals.

It is much more helpful than pictures to see you aren't hiding anything.   

@Jay Hinrichs has posted on that in the past.Many people like to try and hide their identity because of the spotlight effect which refers to how people often overestimate how much others notice (or care about) them, effectively inflating their own importance in society. 

Although those guys had brick and mortar and where very good at what they did ( screwing people)this new crop are just hiding behind social media and their key board.
