A certain degree of defensiveness is understandable, BP does seem to have an anti-guru, anti-MLM, bias and Jason can be rather in-your-face when he has the bit, but in this thread - which happens to be your only real exposure to the Bigger Pockets community - I see the unwavering stance of an ideologue and not the transparency of careful consideration. 

My suggestion is that your best approach, should you buy the property, is to be like a strong but loving parent and unwavering in you approach to his situation.

You have to be something truly extraordinary to catch their eye and have a fire and passion that has an unwavering desire to succeed.I have met people over the years and you hear all the excuses.

Just have to have the right mindset, plan, and unwavering work ethic to make it happen.
