Tithing is best expressed in two ways; giving money to our churches, and practicing the underlying premise of the Good Samaritan (Lk 10:25) who poured oil and wine in the wounds of a stranger. 

What has brought the most ROI is simply talking to people (people I know, and also strangers), and helping.

Even partnerships of the closest friends can fall apart, but putting that much trust in a stranger you've only met over the phone or maybe in person a couple times would not be a route I'd go.

Do they get a thrill thinking about the power they wielded over strangers? 

Pass out business cards to strangers and call friends.  

It feel outside of my scope of my business model.A few suggestions:- List on CHBO corporatehousingbyowner.com- target a niche market like students, travel nurses, flight crews (if you're anywhere near an airport), and construction teams- if you have 2 - 3 bedrooms, explore renting monthly by room - roomies.com and bungalow.com; you'd be surprised at how many people are on a budget and will roommate with strangers. 

Unless you enjoy being seen as an uniformed, nasty, rude, pompous ***, the only possible explanation is that you are so self absorbed that you have no issue with harming perfect strangers to make yourself feel important.

Sharing the same refrigerator and thermostat with strangers is a lot easier said than done...
