It sounds like these people are starting to be your friends but the landlord-tenant relationship is kind of a false friendship because you are not on equal footing.

Partnering with a friend can be great, or can ruin the friendship.

I am very interested in meeting up and getting to know like-minded people in the area to share knowledge as well friendship.

Friendships are formed and its nice to pick up a phone and talk to a local investor when you have a state or city specific issue or just to go over a deal or neighborhood. 

I look forward to cultivating many fruitful acquaintances and possible friendships. 

I appreciate the family friendship but things have to be in writing from now on, memories come and go where money is involved.

It is rare that the average person can completely separate business from friendship.
