You will be able to find a co-op apartment that allows rentals but whether you'd be able to close on it is another question.Co-ops with poor financials will have trouble selling units to borrowers using a mortgage.

@Jason Tucker, I'm familiar with co-living single-family homes but not an apartment complex per unit.

Fixed income...would container village actually be a cheaper proposition vs lets say a senior living 3-4 story apartment building for the same number of units? 

How do you value a apartment that will be rented out to primarily section 8 tenants?
