There's a guy here in Fort Wayne that is a full time doctor of medicine and has 1 rental.

Don't go put your money in a restaurant chains, but in a grocery store partnership for example ( :) ) In recessionary times, restaurants can get killed.Speaking of dying, phamaceuticals are also a good recession proof ploy, not in just medicines but also in medical equipment and assessories.

I will be finishing 4th year medical school and becoming disillusioned with medicine.

I agree the best medicine is to work hard and it will all work out.

(Try this its easy and you get food, wax and medicine for free) Every phone, land line or cell, I ever use is a flat rate unlimited plan.I stopped printing and save everything digitally, you can even get digital signatures on your documents though I haven't started using it yet I have been researching it.AND when ever anybody wants me to do something that cost money,seminars,MLMs new gadgets, telemarketing stuff of any kind,I just say no.

My buddy is doing an emergency medicine residency at Ft Hood! 

Maybe you find that less money is coming in but also a lot less money is going out, no car payment, no insurance payment, all my medical care and medicines are covered by the VA for me , being a veteran, my house is paid off so no more rent or house payment to make.

So who else here is or was in medicine? 

If you we're going into Medicine, Architecture, Engineering, etc..., you wouldn't think twice about spending $100,000's of dollars for the education needed.
