From what the tenant has recorded and the building super has told me, there is constant stomping/yelling/things dropping/talking from above from 6am to 11pm, and that the tenants ceilings and furniture vibrate and shake constantly.

I go out and rent a sander , if the floors are in bad shape I get a drum sander , if they are in fair shape I get the large vibrating sander ,I do take the time to do 3 coats .

Usually a train is a negative to sales price and for a homeowner buying or rentability.Now if the train carries people it can be a benefit for commuters being close to walk to the train to get to their jobs etc.2 points is the vibration of the train and the noise of the train.Next is how active is the route and at what times does it come by??

For our recent 1500 sq ft addition I engineered 20 ft spans & even with the extra support it still seems to have some vibration when the grand children run & jump (on an 8lb pad under 62oz carpet).

Mine is in my basement and when my mom ( who was 84 at the time) was walking briskly on it I could hear upstairs in my office LOL.. not to mention vibration etc.
