No one would tell a 1st year medical student to do surgery just so they don't have analysis paralysis, yet I see this everyday on real estate forums.

They are made of thicker plastic, tougher, and odor/juices won't leak through.

Generally plastic and fiberglass, to fix right especially on the floor, you're better off just replacing the tub.

If the wiring is nonmetallic cable (romex - plastic looking outside layer of insulation) and has a ground wire (3rd wire, bare copper) it might be fine to keep.
