I would like to focus on Turlock as it is a college town, has many amenities, convenient to the freeway, and has lots and lots of craftsman style homes in decent areas!

My tastes are torn between 1920's craftsman and contemporary, but what sells matters.Having said that, it seems there's a lot of inertia towards traditional.

I bought a big turn of the century craftsman and converted the top floor into a seperate apartment using an FHA 203K loan.

I've done Victorian and Craftsman homes.To be honest, I have no access to capital here.

And personally, I love the old craftsman architecture representative of its time.In fact, I just got back from looking at two different properties that would net between $300 to $1K a month after all expenses.SoCal is expensive compared to the country, but there are some neighborhoods that are relatively affordable and have potential for a good investment.I'd be happy to share these two homes for you and/or refer you to my wife (she's an agent in LA) if you'd like.

Coeur d'Alene is more hip and artsy with many small turn of the century victorians and craftsman style homes.

Hello all-  I bought and am gut-rehabbing a 1923 Sears craftsman-style bungalow to hold as a rental.  

The house was built in 2004 as a craftsman style house and is very spacious with 4 Bedrooms and 3 baths.

Like what you did on the craftsman post conversion next to the front door.

Still some beautiful old craftsman and victorian homes there that need love and have great bones at lower prices.
