Paul:

I kind of agree. Some discussion about details and fit for each guru would be good. It might be good for others as well. I'm thinking something like your typical college 'survey' course but that covers a good swath of guru teaching. I'd like to see something like that.

Thanks,

--John

Hey BP-Land:

Has anyone run across a meta-summary of gurus? Not reviews of their programs, but overviews of their approaches and methods?

Thanks!

Hello BP Nation!

I'm interesting in hearing from folks that made the switch from part-time to full-time investing. When and how did you decide to quit your day job? How did you plan? What held you back? What was better/worse than you expected about self-employment?

Thanks!

Ed:

Thanks for this information. It sounds like both of your LOCs were 100% secured. Is that right?

Homer:

Thanks for the words. WF said something similar to me. I also had a weird feeling about it. Thanks for confirming. Was TCF more receptive? Did they give you an LOC? Was it secured?

Thanks!

Jake:

Agreed and no offense taken. I contacted Reggie to discuss going to a Norcal sale with him. No response yet. I may also go to a sale as a spectator only.

Any other pointers a newbie should know?

Thanks!

Best wishes Josh. Like another BP member said, family first.

Cheers.

I've been reading a few posts about the benefits of bank relationships. I'd appreciate hearing stories from folks that have been successful at it.

One approach I read about was placing a deposit in a bank, then asking for a line secured by the deposit. After you pay it back, as for a partially secured line. Repeat over and over. Does this approach work? What might work better?

Thanks!

Jeff:

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know. Do you have a good option contract or can you point me to one?
