@Matthew Paul also a great point Matthew , probably doesn’t hurt to test out the market as is.

@Theresa Harris great advice Theresa! She is not in a financial position to afford improvements out of pocket unfortunately. My wedding is coming up , so I am little strapped as well. If I can take an educated guess , I think I could get the rehab done for around $20-$25K.

As mentioned in previous post, I have investment accounts , 401K , my own property so I do have assets that I can potentially Pull out of to help my mother get top Dollar for her home, but I’m wondering if taking a loan out and co-signing with my mother would make more sense.

Thanks for the feedback Zach! Yes I guess that’s the golden question is to find out what’s the improvements would cost as well as interest on the loan that we take out and look at the numbers from there.

I have some investment accounts and a 401K, is it possible for me to borrow against my 401K for the rehab?

Hey guys!

Seeking advice.

My mother is in a tough predicament and needs to sell her home ASAP.

I am a licensed agent, so I will be listing it and know it will sell fast.

The problem is it is extremely outdated and realistically she can probably get around $215K right now AS IS.

My question, do I list and sell as is or do I take out a loan to make improvements (I.e , new kitchen , appliances, bathrooms, floorings ,

Paint etc). If the property is fully redone we can sell for $280-$300K

Based on the work I want to do, do you think it would make more sense to sell as is or complete the improvements and sell remodeled?

This is a condo by the way.
