Post: Are There Limits On HELOCs?

Hey everybody, sorry if this is a stupid question but I was just wondering if there are limits on HELOCs and what they are? I have one on one of my properties that is almost run dry, but I know I have a good amount of equity in my other property. Would me having one already close to maxed out be a red flag to lenders if I were to apply for one on another property?

@Mike Jacovelli

I am still fairly new to real estate investing, but from my experience and the research I’ve done it IS risky and that scares a lot of people. I look at that as a good thing in a way. It makes for less competition, and if you can tolerate the risk there is a lot of times a reward on the other end!

@Remington Lyman

I appreciate it!

@Katie Miller

My goal for 2020 is to jump start a business focusing on the BRRRR method of investing.

To accomplish this I plan on selling my current rental property to take advantage of the equity and get out of a negative cash flow situation. With the equity I plan on purchasing my first BRRRR deal. :)

@Robert Arquilla

I appreciate the response! Hopefully we can help each other and maybe work together on a deal some day.

Hello everyone my name is Zach and I am sort of new to real estate investing you could say. I am currently 24 and at 19 years old I wanted to move out of my parents and luckily they pushed me to purchase a house instead of rent. After doing a little fixing up and research I fell in love with real estate investing. I currently work in the construction industry (hoping to learn as much as possible about rehabbing) and I still own that property and currently rent it out. I also purchased another property with 2 houses on it with some help. I am currently living in one and renting the other to my sister. The only problem is now I feel like I'm out of money and stuck thinking I jumped in too quick! I'm looking for some direction and have watched a ton of BiggerPockets YouTube videos and even read David Greene's BRRRR book, so I figured what better place to get some direction and finally build some relationships than here!
