Can anyone shed light on how the proposed Trump tax reform would affect property depreciation.  Could this tax reform  retroactively take away the tax benefits for 2017?

I believe investors will study and understand the changes, adapt as required, and keep making money. I've watched this personally for 50 years. Taxes keep increasing we raise rents to cover them. Regulations change we modify our leases. They do away with credit card interest  we get home equity lines of credit. They increase capital gains taxes we use 1031s. They implement self employment tax we use IRAs. Cities take longer to provide building permits we add it in the schedule and cost.  We all come from a long line of survivors and will adapt. Almost all laws help some and hurt others. Let's all use our brains because D.C. doesn't seem to understand.

Thank you for your poetic simplicity. We must adapt to tax reforms, and persevere.

I have heard talk about reform in the area of property depreciation, can anyone elaborate?
