If I understand it right the adjuster will give estimation and based on that the compensation will be determined and not based on the invoice from the contractor.

is that how it works?

I am asking that because I heard I should deliver the insurance company some kind of a notary form of completion of the restoration.

hi, a house I own was vandalized. It is insured and I delivered all the details to the insurance company, including a quote from a contractor. Since it takes time for their answer I consider having a different contractor to do minimal renovation and pay less. Is compensation from the insurance depends of how much I paid eventually or the first quote from the contractor ?
