Kent Clawson,

WOW! THANK YOU! That was a very helpful response. Yes, he is a trust worthy family member and I like how you put the whole Thanksgiving dinner into perspective. The way I see it is as though I could. In terms of his experience, real estate is something he is looking to get involved with as well. He does own a couple barbershops and they aren't your hole in the wall barbershops neither. With that being said his network is pretty huge and knows a lot of the right people to get involved in terms of renovations, remodeling, plumbing, ect. My wife thinks its a great idea, so its good to have her on board as well. He says he definitely has money ready to invest. So what I will do is start off with your tip and let him put an offer on the table in terms on how to move forward and how this deal would look. I think in any business there is a risk and the biggest step is just taking the first step. I just don't want to do so blindly but am very eager to learn and even if there are obstacles or set backs take them as lessons and keep moving.

I really to appreciate your advise. This person is a family member and is trust worthy. The reasons why they wont lend him the money is due to debt to income ratio. He owns a couple barber shops and what not. However, business with family can sometimes be tricky which is why 1. I want to see if this is even worth it. 2. What I could potentially offer. 3. Be fair in a way.

I am planning to get out of the Military early 2022. However, before then I would like to purchase two homes. One using my VA loan and the other using my wife's FHA loan. Now as of very recently I had someone approach me and ask to me to purchase an investment property using my name (Credit). I am interested because I would love to get involved in the game already but not sure what I can offer. I believe I have the upper hand here since the property would be under my name and I know I can get pre-approved based on my income and the other necessary requirements. I guess what I want to know is what I can offer.

IE: Use my credit you put the down payment/ Use my credit I put a smaller percentage down he puts the higher percentage and split all housing repairs 50/50 or Use my credit 50/50 down payment 20/80 on housing repairs.

Thank you all in advance!!

@David Kramer

Yessss! That is exactly what I am searching for. A real estate agent that we could trust. Where you recommend I start searching for one in the Florida area?

@Stuart Grazier

Thank you so much for the input. I am definitely downloading the book right now. Do you know anyone that has been in our shoes that we could possibly speak to? I just have tons of questions on how to get started and how to find a team that we could trust.

Thank you for the motivation! I’m definitely excited about this new journey!

@Frank Patalano

Hey Frank!!! My first home was in Pawtucket RI. Had to sell it as My husband received orders ( Military) to move overseas and at the time we weren't educated on REI. Kinda regret it now seeing that the house went up from 2015- now. However since then we have purchased another home in FLORIDA ( which is where we want to make home permanent ). Planning to make this our last tour in the military. And really want to start investing in the real estate world howvwe we still have 2.5 years out here. We really wanna start looking into another property to buy but being overseas idk where to start! Any advice ???

Hello all!!! We currently live in Germany (Military) and have another 2.5 years out here but we really want to start investing into RE but don’t know where to start. We have a home already in Florida (we purchased for my husbands grandparents) and that is where we are planning to move to make it home. So this is where we would like to start. My question is do you guys think it’s smart to try to start purchasing other properties while being away ? Or If we should even start looking now.

We are planning to go back for 2 weeks next month and I really wanted to get started but honestly don’t even know how or where to start. I been looking at a ton of houses there and have seen some great deals( mostly onlIne) Anyone know any good real estate agents that can help us out. Or where should we turn to. We have about 10-15k that we would like to get started with. Any advise is appreciated. 😊
