Welcome Jasmine! I too am getting started in the STL market and am really looking forward to it. This seems like an excellent market to get your feet wet and sink your teeth in. I'd recommend you attend the Southside Investment Club (SSIC) via meetup.com. They offer really good information (though not nearly as beneficial as BP!)

Welcome Chuck! You've certainly found a very good resource to develop your real estate knowledge. Since finding this site, I'm now more than confident that I can succeed in this business. I'm currently looking for deals in STL myself! I'm a buy and hold investor looking for multi-families.

@Patrick Yungck have you heard about the major revitalization effort going on in north city by Mr. McKee on the order of $150M+ with about 60M of his own money? He gave an excellent presentation on Thursday at the SSIC meetup, and it seems very promising for residential and commercial investors alike. Obviously, there is a pretty bad stigma attached to north city at the moment, but this might be an excellent opportunity for people with vision. Anyway, thought I'd share.

Welcome @Patrick Yungck ! I am currently living in Belleville, IL right across the river. I have not yet dipped my toes in the STL market, but do have properties in CA and OH. I'm working on finding my first multifamily deal here ASAP, albeit looking at 2-4 units. And as @Lance Carpenter indicated, the BP community is great. I'd also recommend the South Side Investment Club (SSIC) meetup. It's one of the largest in the country.

Welcome to BP Michael! I'm relatively new to St. Louis as well and looking to get serious in the very near future. I wish you well!

Hello all! I'm also in St. Louis and plan on investing here soon. I have a few zip codes I'm interested in and plan on hitting up the county courthouse for a list of absentee/probate properties in the near future. I work at Scott AFB and bought a house in Shiloh (turns out it probably wasn't a good 'investment', but I'm enjoying it so far). I attend the SSIC meeting regularly, and they are very good with a lot of really useful information. I look forward to chatting with you all in the future.

Hello @Ashlie Greising

I'm also looking to start investing in St. Louis. I agree that a property manager is probably the number one factor in investing successfully in real estate. I feel they are essential in that they generally have the "pulse" of the market. Would you mind passing on your property managers info? I would much appreciate it!

Hiya Brad! Welcome to the site! It is definitely a treasure trove of information. I am fairly new to the St Louis area, but I'm looking to starting buying properties here soon in B and C neighborhoods. Please let me know what kind of deals you have lined up.
