@Nicholas Aiola thank you! Will different state laws and business focused complicate things for a CPA? Can most experienced CPAs handle taxes in different states?

I just purchased my first buy-and-hold investment property in February. It's located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I will need a CPA to help me with my taxes. I also have a small mowing business in Missouri that operates under an LLC and I need a CPA/tax consultant for that business. Do I need two separate CPAs since those are in different states? Or am I better off hiring one CPA to handle my taxes?

@Jay Hinrichs I saw your comment about getting a realtor’s license. Would the wholesaler have to do anything in the process of flipping the contract? I think I’ve heard that they would have to do the deal through a brokerage to make the deal happen. Is there anything official that needs to be done through the process as compared to flipping without a license?

@Ned J. Thanks, Ned. I always paid a week early, so I paid for June in full already. I am concerned that she'll withhold that money for any reason that she desires if I just leave now. I am definitely looking for a place to move into before July.

@Judy Parker I should know better. I moved in before I had a great understanding of landlord laws, and former coworkers have lived in this house before me. They warned me that she was picky with them, but I didn't know she would take it to this level. She makes $24,000 a year of unreported rent... I'm sure she wouldn't want the IRS to find out.

Hi all,

I am an RE investor and have a rental property in Wisconsin, but I currently rent from a landlord in New Jersey and reside there. I do not have a written agreement. It is month-to-month and I haven’t paid a security deposit because she never asked for one. I’ve been living in the house for 10 months and the landlord lives there as well. She is showing extreme aggression and is very unstable. She has no viable reason to kick me out, but she’s upset that I left a light on and she argued with me about it one night through a text conversation, so she’s still upset about that. Where can I find info about my rights? Can she legally have me removed from the property tomorrow? She hasn’t served me an eviction.

@Jeremy Trad hey, Jeremy! Thanks for the response. I have tried to locate their contractor section in the past but couldn’t find it on the page.

Hello all,

I’m looking for helpful recommendations for general contractors and handymen in the Milwaukee area. I manage a rental from outside of the state, but I would like to have some contacts when repair work comes up. Please let me know if you would recommend anyone. Thank you!

@Jennifer Stillman hey, Jennifer. I happened to stumble across this thread looking for the same info as you are. I am extremely surprised that there aren’t more threads relating to yurts. It seems like you can buy land in Colorado for under 15K and just put a yurt on it for another 15K and rent it out. I know I would stay in one as opposed to an expensive hotel/resort! It would be interesting to try it out, as I would love to have one as a vacation pad/rental investment. The only concerns I have would be trying to get a maid to clean it after guest stays and also the occupancy and setting nightly rates.
