Post: By-the-room House Hackers: Where do you find tenants?

I'm moving out of my parents' house in Dallas in the next month, and I want to live cheaply while I save for a down payment and look for the right property to invest in. I think it'd be a great experience for me to rent a room as a tenant under a landlord who's actively house-hacking by the room to get a feel of the tenant's perspective. What website or app should I visit to get connected with potential landlords?

Hi, I'm looking to house-hack my first home purchase and here's one question that's come up for me: How should I take into account the size of the bedrooms in the house I'm thinking about buying? Conventional wisdom tells me to fit as many bedrooms into a certain square footage as possible; but when touring some of these houses where the bedrooms seem just big enough to fit a bed and not much else, my knee-jerk reaction is to think that nobody in their right mind would want to live in something that small. Is there any rule of thumb y'all have as to how large a room should be in order to rent it out on a room-by-room basis? Have any of y'all with experience in house-hacking single family residences run into troubles renting out your rooms because they were too small? Thanks for the help!

Post: Asking seller's agent to find me different property as my agent?

Hi, I'm a prospective first time home-buyer (please forgive my ignorance) looking to house-hack;  I recently visited an open house, liked the house, and really liked the ideas that the seller's agent had on how I could cash flow the place. I can tell that he's a guy that I'd like to work with in the future. The problem is I'm worried about buying this house from him because he has a fiduciary duty to get his client the highest price; but would it be proper/common to ask him if he'd be willing to find other properties for me and act as my real estate agent in a buying position?
