Post: Pros/Cons of Hiring Mentor?

Great question @Chinyere Orie.  A mentor is a must in my book.  As my business has grown, my number of mentors and caliber of mentors has also grown.  When I was looking for a mentor I traveled to meet them, hear them speak, and talked to people that worked under them.  I searched on BP to find people who were in a specific program and asked them if they were willing to take a call to discuss their experience.  Many people were open to talking and saved me from joining two different programs.  I decided I wanted someone that was in the business now (instead of someone that was successful many years ago and not only coaches/mentors) and someone I had direct access to.  Many coaches sign you up and you have a group call with them a few times a year while you work with one of their top students.  I chose to pay for this mentorship.  You do not have to pay for it though.  You can find someone that is doing what you want to do and try to add value to them.  Tour their properties before you reach out so you can speak about the market and what they are working on.  There are so many different opinions about mentors, mine is you have to have at least one.  It gives you so much more confidence and allows you to move much faster in most cases.  Let me know how I can help.

That is great @Grant Rothenburger.  I would like to interview @Joe Fairless live at the conference.  I know you may be too busy during the conference Joe but I thought that would be neat to interview you at your own event.

I am looking forward to being there.  Let me know how I can help.

The market is changing and the gameplay in structuring a real estate deal has evolved. Today, the lender controls almost every deal because they’re sensing the change in the market.

This interview is with Rahul B. Patel, the Managing Partner of Patel Gaines, the fifth fastest growing law firm in the nation where he represents over $8.5 billion in commercial property, breaks down the growing problems in structuring deals nowadays and reveals how market competition affects the way a deal is structured.

In today’s time where the prevailing strategy is enticing the seller before understanding the requirements of the lender, discover from Rahul how to rise above this mistake and be prepared in making a successful deal going forward. Click here to tune in: http://bit.ly/RahulPatelWS217

Data analytics is vital in the gathering of information and in decision making. In my recent interview with Raj Tekchandani, a high-tech entrepreneur and the Founder of Smart Capital LLC, we talk about data analytics in this data-driven world, highlighting how combining all the data will lead to a better decision. Under this same premise, it is also data that led him to invest not only in his hometown but to different markets as well. Learn more about the importance of gathering information as Raj gets into data analytics and his passion for multifamily syndication. Click the link listen or watch! http://bit.ly/RajTekchandaniWS213
