I am new to the real estate investing world. Currently work a full time job and my vision for the future is to be 100% into the real estate investing world. I can offer nights and weekends to focus on learning/working.

My initial though is to start off with wholesaling - This gives me a good foundation into the real estate world - Creating a network, finding deals, marketing, due diligence, coordinating deals. I also see it as a huge benefit the be able to set up some marketing that is working while I am not working (Direct mail and websites).

I am looking to start off by finding a mentor who is already in the wholesaling world. I am truly looking for someone who will let me start off by doing whatever is needed to help out (marketing, driving for dollars, putting together investor material, and anything else that will build knowledge). Ideally, this person would partner with me once I start doing my own deals to add value through support and knowledge.

Anyone in the NC triangle area who would be willing to let me work/learn to help grow your business? I am starting to attend local REIA events. Any other recommendations for finding a mentor in the area?

@David Acosta Thanks for starting to expand my acronym vocab - REI - I have a long way to go!

@Dawn Brenengen Thanks for the invite! I was planning on going to whole seller meetup near the airport but this looks like a much better starting place! I get off work about 6 and will head that way after.

Brand new to the real estate world. Long term goals have always revolved around real estate and always find other ways to invest money because of the thought that "I need more money to invest in real estate, at least 100K"

Removing that thought from my mind and coming here to learn! Currently live in Raleigh NC - Work in Tech Sales - Looking to learn as much as possible about local markets/finances/strategy/niches.

Current plan:

1. Learn as much as possible

2. Test Runs (Run numbers/watch markets/try to find deals)

3. Buy first property

4. Find niche of syndication/flipping/rentals

My current career pays me around 100K - I have thought about getting into real estate many many times to make myself more familiar with the arena/people - The idea goal would be to work with investors to help find and analyse large deals or someone who is currently in syndication - My current state is 30 years old and about to be married - with current bills obviously in the short term this will cause some suffering thought for the long term I know this option could offer a much larger pay off. I am very analytical and have strong sales back ground so I feel my strengths will be in finding deals and funding.

Any advice on finding mentors or making the right change in careers to become a full time investor is greatly welcomed!

I look forward to much more learning and excited to shift my investment mindset 100% to something I can have more control of!
