How would I file a LLC so cheap? I thought it had a higher price tag? Perhaps it is because it is Illinois and they do it that way haha And yes I will grab it. Thanks!

Hello BP!

I know there are a ton of posts regarding LLCs and DBAs for starting out, but I want to spell out my thoughts here for some advice...

I want to use a website for my marketing side of things, but I would like to use a site different than my own name as in DeuterInvestments.com. If I do that, would it require a DBA/LLC? In time I would like to use that name a business name, which is why I would rather start my site with that first. Can I start out using that site, but merely run any business side transactions as my personal name?

My next question is how does business credit work? If I started a DBA and in time decided to go to an LLC, does anything tied to that DBA transfer to the LLC or is it starting fresh again?

Thanks for any assistance!

Will

Thank you for such a great post! It reflects on a lot of the things that I think about a lot when I look at our society and their way of thinking as a whole. We promote multitasking (or multithinking as I think of it), which takes our focus or decisiveness out of the picture entirely, but yet it is needed for us to become an expert in any one thing before we start that diversify thinking.

Hello BP friends!

I am looking forward to a meetup group of local BPers in a few weeks, but as I look to network with others, I don't have a specialty or niche really found yet. How should I go about introducing myself since I am the "new kid on the block"? I haven't formed my business yet as I haven't figured out a defined game plan just yet, so I don't know if I should just have some business cards with me with my name and number possibly? Or should I just pursue to network in general for now? Thanks for any input in advance!!
