Post: Consequences of the Fannie and Freddie Bailout?

Today, on Yahoo, it was announced that the Gov't would bail out both Freddie and Fanny, as well as insure the loans that they currently have opened. What will be the consequences for us as REI's?

It appears to me that this will cause the banks to limit the losses they are taking on short sales, so that it will be much harder to get good deals on them. I'm sure that there are other issues this will affect, too. But I am unsure what they are.

Does this sound correct to those of you with more experience and have been following the news about the bailout?

Hello, I am Clifton Jones. I am from Melbourne, FL and am currently working on a Navy Base. I will be leaving my current job in December to start investing full-time in Real Estate.

I have no experience in the real estate arena, even to the point of never owning a home, but am familiar with negotiating deals.

My immediate goal for my real estate business is to bring in a steady income through wholesaling, as well as rehabbing some during the year. The way I plan to achieve this is to reach 8-10 wholesale deals per month by the end of 2009.

My long-term goal is to generate a steady income through rental and commercial properties. My current timeframe for I have set for this to occur is 5 years.

I plan to achieve my goals through short sales and networking with investors/realtors/brokers from different areas of the country, as well as handling local business along the Space Coast of Florida.

This is all a work in progress and will take a while to complete. My main focus will be the Space Coast for the first few months, in order to start receiving a steady income. Once I have become comfortable with the short sale negotiations, I will be attempting to network in other areas of the country.
