@Joseph Gibney

Thanks for the kind words. I've definitely notice the shift in the market. I used to live on the East side of Orlando and there were a lot of opportunities near the college, but like you said it's getting difficult to find a good deal.

@Justin Stamper

I haven't reached out to anyone in the Orlando area yet. I have a couple of contacts in the Brevard/Indian River county that have been helpful in regards to appraising, but I do want to find out more about the Orange county market. Would you have any suggestion?

Post: Pros and Cons of a Real Estate Appraiser?

Hi everyone,

I'm sure this isn't the forum for this but seeing as appraisers primarily work for bankers and lenders I figured I'd list this question here.

I'm currently contemplating a career as a real estate appraiser and wanted to get some insight on the profession. For the most part I understand the course work and training involved and I already have someone lined up to work under as an apprentice.

My question is what are some of the pros and cons associated with a residential/commercial appraiser? What are some tips you would give someone going into the profession?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Anthony

Hi everyone,

My name is Anthony, newbie to BP and the Real Estate world.

I've been interested in the industry for a long time and initially joined BP to get more insight on property appraising, as I'm contemplating pursing a career in that field. I've done my fair share of research on the subject but figured why not ask people in the community and get their perspective. While appraising is an area I've been most interested in lately, flipping homes and owning rental properties have always been a financial goal of mine as well.

Like stated from fellow newbie @Jean E. I'm looking to get started and any feed back would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony
