As for the financing I don't have anything lined up yet, but once I have a better idea of what is available there I will consider the options.

I think About 150-200k max for now. Something with two units or so.

Thank You, I fully understand the difference between the two, would definitely start with the rental and not worry about the moving in. Before I make my way there I need to do my homework but not in rush.

Thanks! Well, it all started with my wife`s wish to live in Miami. Having visited the city many times and having been in hospitality for most of my adult life I agreed with the idea. Now I would like to complement the idea of moving there with a rental property that can supplement my income.  Than we see what happens next.

I live and work in NYC and would like to invest in rental property in Florida. I prefer Miami-Dade or Broward counties, multifamily homes come to mind first. I currently have no experience in Florida real estate but only a good will to invest and eventually move in 1 to 2 year period.
