As you noted- this is certainly a community of intelligent and successful individuals. Even so, I'm not sure anybody here is qualified to tell you what your own goals should be. Some people would be content with a single cash-flowing triplex and world class trout fishing in their backyard!

Have you considered Westchester county? Seems like reasonably priced rentals rarely last longer than 24 hours here.
