Hi Patrick,

Welcome to BP!

Of course, I'm biased but I'm glad you're looking into KC. In my 15 years here I've gotten pretty involved in the community and really enjoy it. The city has a lot to offer and, right now, that includes a good real estate market.

I know what you mean about "deciding to go where the market is rather than where I wished it was." I went through that, too, even within the city. But that's business, we have to go where the deals are so we adjust.

I'd be happy to help you get acquainted with the area. Just send me a private message and let me know how I can help you.

Wow, tons of great information Paul! Thanks. I'll be sure to check it out.

I've been to a few REI club meetings but need to be more consistent with that. I have 2 on my calendar this week so I'm getting there.

@Mike D'Arrigo

Thanks for the advice and the offer to follow up with you Mike. I'll be in touch to pick your brain about that a bit more.

@Dmitriy Fomichenko

I've got 2 out of 3 suggested covered so far. Have set keywords and love the podcast...that's how I found the site. Will make my way to the meet page soon. Thanks for the welcome!

I have a feeling I better stay out of Ikea at least until I have a few deals under my belt! I'm focusing on east and south KC.

@Jenni Purvis

Hi Jenni! Roeland Park is a great area. A friend of mine has a rental there. Can't wait to see the new Ikea!

Sorry for the duplicate post. It looked like it didn't go through the first time. My hotspot is acting funny and I'm not sure it won't happen again this time around.

@Rayanna Scott

Close to home is a good place to start! I hear the market's hot up there, too. Brookside is a great area to live but a little intimidating to start trying to invest there. Fortunately, there are plenty other areas to chose from.

@James Wise

Thanks! It's good to be here.

@Engelo Rumora

Thanks! My house is in the Raytown area. The other was my accidental rental. It was a condo in Brookside that I lived in for 3 years. Actually, I just sold it last week.

Yes, there is a lot of activity here right now. A little challenging for a newbie.

In which KC areas did you invest? Do still have property here?

@Mike D'Arrigo

Thanks! From what I've seen so far, the best cash flow is in the hood. I'm looking there for that reason. Have you done many deals in east KC?

@Ray Orellano

Hi neighbor! It sounds like we may need to get together at a Brookside patio soon...one of the many benefits of the neighborhood.

Nice to meet you, too, Payden! Lawrence is a fun town. I like to visit there now and then for a quick getaway. Let me know if you have any KC questions!
