Thank you Lance, appreciate your feedback. The client LLC you described sounds very similar to our situation. I will need to pursue further with our accountant.

I am one of two managing members of an LLC which is formed in Virginia. I live in Florida and my partner is in Virginia and all of our business has been conducted in Virginia. Our accountant is telling us our LLC is being taxed in Virginia as a foreign entity since I reside in Florida. Just looking for some clarification on this. Thank you in advance and hope I made some sense with the explanation.

As a runner I have always loved this quote from Steve Prefontaine which can be applied to any area of your life.

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.” - Steve Prefontaine

Thanks for the feedback Steve and John, will continue to pursue on your recommendations.

I have a LLC registered in NC and am considering doing business in Florida. I have the application, from the Florida Department of State's Division of Corporations, to file as a foreign corporation. The application states that it does not register the foreign corporation to transact business in Florida but merely reserves the name for future use in the state. I spoke with someone from the corporations division to get clarification and they stated that I could conduct business. Not doubting the individual that I spoke with but for those that are doing business in Florida, is there a separate application that I will need to submit in order to transact business there? Hope I didn't muddy it too much and I appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

Thank you Russell and RL for your replies. Appreciate it and Russell great show, will be pulling it up again.

I am trying to locate a podcast in which the guest was a realtor, I believe from Maryland, and was a top producer nationally. I have scanned every podcast and cannot find that show. Does anyone know who I may be referencing? Appreciate your help ahead of time.
