Depending on the overage, it may not be worth the effort.

@Erica, then you'd have to find out if the owner had any heirs that legally be in line for the property.

I get that! So let's say I go that route. In that BRRRR strategy am I refinancing the rental to repeat the process? Because I can't see refinancing my primary again.

I dont know, i'm only 5 years into my mortgage but, I guess I dont really care for the idea of starting all over with another one?

My thoughts were to purchase a rental property with the heloc, then refinance that property to pay off the heloc, rinse and repeat. Or do you think that's too unrealistic?

Thank you Carlos. I'd rather not do the cash out refi if at all possible, but I've definitely been hearing some good things about helocs!
