Has anyone used newspaper ads to sell retail properties?

If so did you target the main papers (In my case, Seattle Times etc.) or the classifieds oriented (Nickel Nic etc.)?

I'm just down the road in Bothell. Are you a member of any of the local investing groups? REIA? REAPS?

If I had to pick one over the other, I would pick a site for sure for a number of reasons, the most important being that it is very easy to capture people's contact information with a site...isn't that the main goal after all?

With that said, I also think a blog is a great idea simply because they are free (Google: Blogger) and anytime you can get your company name onto the web for free I feel it is a great opportunity. It increases the chances of someone finding you through a web search and all it takes is getting one deal out of it to make it well worth the time. Just make sure you have plenty of references and links to your site(s) in the blog.

Both of the rehabs that are going on right now we got through an experienced investor who is mentoring us.

One of them was a "full gut" and the other was pretty much cosmetic with the exception of removing a couple walls and adding a shower to one bathroom.

Our plan is to sell both of them, the cosmetic should be on the market by the end of the week and the other will hopefully be on the market within the next 3 weeks.

Yeah, values are still holding pretty steady right now in most areas.

Down south though, Tacoma etc. is really taking a hit though.

My name is Tyler Wicks and I'm a new investor from Bothell, WA (close to Seattle for those of you that don't know). I've only been in real estate since February, but we are about ready to finish up 2 rehabs we currently have going and then start on the 3rd as soon as they are done.

We would also like to start doing more wholesale deals in the near future as well as constantly having 2 to 3 rehabs going.
