Post: When to hire a property manager?

Appreciate the responses, all! I am planning on purchasing a property in my hometown but with my 9-5 job I travel quite a bit so I am not in my hometown many weeks of the year. My plan is currently to try and buy one property per year so I can learn along the way and then escalate my purchases in 3 years or so. I am a little torn because i like the idea of doing it myself to see what all I can learn, but the fact that I am out of town a decent amount makes me think it may be more of a hassle than it's worth. Does this additional information spark any additional recommendations?

In the research stage of real estate investing and finding that I think rental properties are the most appealing to me. I was wondering what do most people who just start out do in regards to hiring a property manager? Do they hire one when they own just one rental home? Wait until they own a few? What if their first property is a multi-family home? I like the idea of trying to manage them myself for the first few, but I do currently have a 9-5 job that keeps me pretty busy and was curious how realistic that is. I know every situation is different, but would like to hear a few perspectives on this - thanks!

I am just getting started in real estate investing. I am still in the research stage and saving money while learning the ropes. I was wondering if most people who have gone the route of becoming real estate investors have started out by getting their real estate license themselves or have alternatively just partnered up with a strong real estate agent. Maybe both? Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks!
