@Charles Simon that'd be great. If I can't make the meet up on the 27th there is always the possibility to schedule something else.

I would love to try and make this meet up, I need to try and shuffle some prior engagements around - if not, I'll try and make the next one.

I've been working in CRE since school - first as a property manager, then for a GC as a super/estimator which lead me into project management for a private equity real estate fund managing focusing on multi-tenant industrial & value add assets. Most recently managing (with my team) the repositioning of 117 buildings as part of a $600M acquisition where I led large TIs and extensive CapEx projects for the companies Pacific Northwest Region. Currently I'm a PM in charge of New Construction for a large multifamily development company building out 200+ unit apartment communities throughout the country (approx. $1B in the next 3-years). I see the money I'm creating for others and want to get started doing my own thing to get a piece of that pie.

Looking forward to introducing myself in person.

@Zenas Lam if you are planning on doing a live in flip you can always look into the route of HUD financing to get a low downpayment - you can use this type of financing to buy small multi-family that will allow you to cover your monthly expenses. After a year, you can rent out the other side and move on to something bigger and better. With the high barriers to entry in Orange County, HUD financing can be a great way to get your foot in the door.

I've worked in commercial real estate throughout my career - starting as a property manager before moving into construction management. I've worked for general contractors as a Superintendent and as a project manager for a large institutional real estate fund specializing in value-add, multi-tenant industrial real estate. Currently I am working for a multifamily develop company - managing the entitlement, permitting, and construction phases of 200+ unit development projects throughout the United States.

I've started reading books and taking courses to help round out my knowledge of the industry and am looking to start investing on my own. Any advise from new and seasoned investors is warmly welcomed. I look forward to sharing my journey with this community and would be happy to share any industry knowledge I can bring to the table should anyone need it.
