Has anyone tried the USREIA 5 free online training videos? Yes, they are free but I just wanted to see if anyone had gone through them and are they worth the time. I'm getting to the point of not wanting to sign up for free things and getting a ton of emails.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for the input! I will take it all under advice and go for separate cards for each of us.

Thanks again! You all rock!

While I think it's a sad state, I agree that people judge us on what drive, our clothes, etc. I do care what people think of me because that could be a relationship that benefits me greatly in the future, personally or financially. Now, I don't lose sleep if someone doesn't like me, nor do I stress over it. But I do make an effort to make a good first impression, regardless of who I'm meeting.

That being said, I don't dress flashy. In fact, wearing a tie is like having a noose around my neck but I will do it for the right occasion. I usually wear polos and cargo pants, Dockers or at least nice jeans. I don't wear flashy jewelry and I drive a 7 year old Toyota Tundra with a dent in the front bumper and a slightly bent rear bumper. It is still a nice truck but I don't pamper it. The interior is leather and mostly neat but not spotless. I have 2 kids so spotless is near impossible.

@Siye Baker - I'm with you. I always go for the $1, last-years-model phones at Best Buy when I'm upgrading and I still have a good phone that does everything I need it to. New shoes... well, they're just not as comfortable as my oldies.

My wife and I are partners in our new venture into REI. This may seem like a simple question but I wanted to get some input from the more knowledgeable folks out there.

When we order business cards, should we order 2 separate sets or would it be ok to have the info for both of us on 1 set of cards? I realize this could cause some confusion but, obviously we are not competing with each other to get business and it would save us a little money (keeping in mind that money is tight). I understand cards are relatively inexpensive but we do still have to pay for them. It would also give people the option of more than one contact. I know some people are more comfortable working with men, some more so with women.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I think I'm going to like it here.

@Nathan T. - Maybe we can help each other out. Let me know if you're ever back in the area and we can meet for coffee or something.

@Mehran K. - That's what it's all about, financial security for my family! I'm sure you all are going to be a big help!

@Dave Visaya & @Brandon Turner - Thanks for the tips! I've already started reading the guides and will be setting up my keyword alerts today.

Thanks, @James Wise

Another thing I would like to mention here is that being small business owners, my wife and I are very supportive of other small business owners, especially local. We both encourage building mutually beneficial relationships that will also benefit our community. And, even though we love Kernersville, we will sometimes extend what we consider local to those outside of our area if we can help someone else build their business and community. So please remember that we may not be direct neighbors, but we may be able to help each other in many ways.

Hi, David.

I'm in Kernersville and am totally new to REI. My wife and I are still in the learning stages so we haven't really narrowed our scope yet, but definitely interested in learning all aspects.

Christopher - I am also interested in meeting and networking with fellow investors. If you're available when you're in Kernersville, let me know and we can meet up for at least an introduction.

Hello all. I've been doing some reading on this site and decided to join (yes, I will be getting a profile pic put in soon).

My wife and I are taking the leap into the world of REI. She is going to get her provisional license in the next couple of months and I will be learning from her. We are learning all we can right now from whatever resources we can find and I have found a local REIA that we can attend in the coming weeks.

I hope to learn a lot from everyone here. I find that even if something doesn't necessarily apply now, it may in the future so I tend to pay lots of attention.

We currently own a small business and I work full time as IT support. I really, really don't like working for, and making money for other people so I plan to make this my primary source of income in the near future.

As my profile states, I am not afraid of hard work but I hope to learn enough to work smarter.

I look forward to learning something from you all!
