@Matthew Choi thank you so much for the response! I had another member mention the FHA loan route yesterday. So last night I went online and contacted a few lenders that specialize in these types of loans. Think this will be the route I'm gonna go. I do plan on living in it for a little while to save more tonput towards more properties.

Hello! I haven’t been active here and I have it on my to-do’s to be more active. My post today is trying to find out where to get started. My goal in real estate investments is to build a portfolio of rentals. I would love to start with a multi family like a duplex, triplex or more but I’m finding I need 20% down. This is deterring as I’m just getting my credit cleaned up and starting to get some savings built. I wonder if I should start with a fixer upper home to live in and rehab then flip and use the equity to jump into multi family homes. I have a goal of at least ten doors in ten years. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hello everyone! My name is Tucker And I live in St Augustine Florida and currently I am a web programmer, commercial photographer and own a Bar Gallery. I have wanted to move into investing in real estate for a little while now. Listening to the podcasts and reading I think my first venture will be house hacking. I’m starting to look at duplexes in my area as I work on fixing my credit score and I hope to get into something by the end of the year or beginning of next year. I look forward to being more active in these forums!
